Book Buys

So, I didn't do a lot this weekend. Sort of hibernated, but I had plans. They all fell through. I did some book shopping. Well, I sold a bunch of books and then bought some with the money. Yeah, spent way more than I sold. Here is what I bought. A Son Of The Circus by John Irving. Also by JI The Forth Hand and A Widow For One Year. By Kurt Vonnegut I got Slaughterhouse Five and Breakfast Of Champions. I got copies of and Nine Stories and Raise High The Roof Beam Carpenters both by J.D. Salinger. I also got a biography of JD, the ultimate recluse. I've already read the biography written by his daughter. I got another copy of I, Robot by Isaac Asimov. Like my copy of The Catcher In The Rye which is what I was looking for has been loaned out. I got a copy of Women In Love by D.H. Lawrence. I got a beat copy of The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand and last I got a copy of Hannibal by Thomas Harris. As usual, spent too much. I've read Son of The Circus, both Vonneguts, and I, Robot. Note, the book and the movie have no relationship to each other.

The book is much better and the hero of the book is a woman, Susan Calvin.

Maybe next time I'll tell about the latest music purchases I've made.

Hey Gord, Cube Dweller here.

I guess my work un-blocked blogger. Good for me.

I have read all but one or two Vonnegut books. If you have not read them already, I highly suggest Cat's Cradle and Galapagos. If Breakfast of Champions and Slaughterhouse Five are your first Vonnegutian forays, they are easily the best two books to read as an intro to his world.

I need to buy some Asimov. I'm partial to Arthur C. Clarke and Bradbury myself.
